GT3 LAVAREDO – Gravel Cross Triathlon
Triathlon swim frame: swimming in the mirror of the Dolomites
The start of your “From the Lake to the Sky” challenge could not have a more spectacular setting. The swim leg of the GT3 LAVAREDO Gravel Cross Triathlon takes place in the crystal-clear waters of Lake Santa Caterina, in Auronzo di Cadore, a true gem nestled among the most iconic peaks in the world.
An unrivaled visual experience
Stroke after stroke, imagine lifting your head and seeing the Tre Cime di Lavaredo rising majestically on the horizon, reflected on the still surface of the lake. This is not just a triathlon race, it is a total immersion in a UNESCO World Heritage landscape. The pure mountain air and the silence of the rock giants will accompany every breath you take.
Technical details:
● Triathlon swim distance: 1,000 meters (1 km).
● Course: A technical and fast loop that will allow athletes to test their condition before tackling the gradients of the gravel leg.
● Temperature and equipment: swimming in a mountain lake in July is a rejuvenating experience. Although the setting is alpine, in July the waters of Lake Santa Caterina reach pleasant temperatures and are not excessively cold.
● Wetsuit use for this triathlon: to ensure maximum safety and thermal comfort for athletes, the use of a wetsuit is mandatory. This will allow you to fully enjoy the swim, benefiting from better buoyancy and protection, leaving you free to focus solely on your performance and the surrounding scenery.
